Represent

Have you noticed? People put a lot of stock into who and what they represent. Employees have been fired over social media posts that contradict the values of their company. News media focuses on people with the same last name as our political celebrities - suggesting that their character (good and bad) reflects the character of the political figure they’re connected to. People go out of their way to find clothing with a brand that they feel good about representing. It appears to be a natural instinct to have concern over who we represent and who represents us. The third (of ten) commandment God gave to His people is about this very idea… how we represent God to the world. In this series, we’ll be looking at a few ways the people of God are called to represent God… ways that sometimes contradict the commonly accepted norms of our society.
