Formation at Vineyard
The Vineyard Formation Track helps participants better understand the purposes God has for their lives, while equipping them to pursue those purposes in and through our church family and partner ministries.
Vineyard 101 - Belong
A class session that introduces prospective “steward-members” to the history, values, and mission of Charlottesville Vineyard Church. This is a great first step in your journey to discover if Vineyard is a good fit for you. We’ll get to know each other, tell the Vineyard story, discuss some theological cornerstones, and look at some of the practical aspects of how and why we do things the way we do.

Vineyard 201 - Grow
A class session that orients participants to our vision and process for discipleship at Vineyard. In this class, we provide tools for people to identify areas of potential growth personally, we provide tools for them to identify areas of gifting that can be used to benefit our church community and beyond, and we equip them to create their own plans and goals for personal discipleship, along with available coaching support. This is the second session in our three-part Formation Track.

Vineyard 301 - Serve
A class session that provides tools to help you discover and affirm your personal gifts, as well as identify the role that those qualities can play in how you join in God’s mission. This session also discusses biblical understandings of leadership, and orients participants to opportunities to serve in and through Vineyard Church. This is the third session in our three-part Formation Track.

Theology Track
Who is God?
Who is God? What is the Trinity? What does this mean for our day-to-day lives? This two-hour class engages the most fundamental question of the Christian faith. If you have ever wondered how Christian understandings of God have developed over time, and what this practically means for how we live, this class is for you!

Who is Jesus?
A two-hour class dives into the very heart of the Gospel. What does it mean for God to become human? How did dying on a cross accomplish salvation? What impact should Jesus’ identity and work have on how we live today? Join this class to explore these questions and more.

The Church’s History and Mission
Why are there so many types of churches and how did they develop? What should the church’s mission be in the world, and how can it become more effective? This two-hour class examines the history of how the global church developed, highlighting historical shifts, theological differences, and various models for how the church can help build God’s kingdom.

Alpha
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring faith, run over eleven weeks. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.

Leap of Faith
Leap of Faith is a 6-week, community-wide, faith-building experience during Lent that is intended to help the entire church family take a collective step forward in trusting and living out the ways of God. At the heart of LOF are regular prayer and faith-stretching practices that we do as a family, collectively digging deeper for a short-season, with the benefit of long-term growth.
Understanding and Engaging Scripture
A two-week class that explores where the Bible came from, the differences between translations, and how to interpret scripture. If you are interested in learning how to better understand the Bible, this course is a great next step for you.

Multi-Ethnicity and the Kingdom of God
A four-week course with the purpose of building greater awareness, understanding and cultural dexterity regarding race and ethnicity. In this course, we explore the biblical foundations for ethnicity, the history of race in our culture and the American Church, discuss our current social context, and explore ways that God is calling us to heal, reconcile, and love our neighbors as ourselves.

Sharing Jesus with Others
A one-week workshop that equips participants to have spiritual conversations with others. If you are interested in learning more about how to invite others to take steps toward Jesus, this class will offer practical tools to help you engage these conversations more effectively.

Kingdom Ministry
A four-week course discussing what it means to live and move in the power of the Holy Spirit. Covering topics such as healing, prophecy, and discerning God’s direction, this course offers teaching and practical exercises to train you in how to do ministry the way Jesus did.

Prayer Ministry Training
A two-week interactive course focused on the foundation of hearing from God and praying for others. We’ll cover a variety of topics and exercises, equipping you to more effectively pray for others in need. This is a prerequisite to joining our Prayer Ministry Team.

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality
A four-week course that examines the ways that emotional maturity and spiritual maturity are inseparable. This class will equip you not only to understand the biblical vision for emotional health but to pursue personal healing.

The Marriage Course
The Marriage Course is a 7-week course designed to help couples invest in their relationship and build a strong marriage. Some couples do the course to intentionally invest in their relationship, others are looking to address more specific challenges. Either way, the course offers essential tools and practical ideas to help you build a relationship that lasts a lifetime.
