Money Traps

Jesus famously said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” His various teachings on money and wealth indicate that he clearly understood both the trappings and utilities of money. While he certainly wasn’t allergic to financial resources, more than anything, his teachings advocate for his people to be free from the stranglehold money often has on our hearts. He wanted his people to use money instead, as a tool for much greater purpose than personal ambition, security or mere pleasure-seeking. In this series, we’ll look at some of the common trappings of money and search for God’s alternative intent.
